Wishlist Wednesday: The Paris Architect, Charles Belfoure

Wishlist Wednesday is a weeklies hosted by Pen to Paper. As I have enough wishes when it comes to books I decided to join this weekly and tell you about them. I am obviously curious about the books on your wishlist too so feel free to leave a message.

Do you have a special Christmas edition for this Wednesday? As I have so many books I decided not to put any on my wishlist for Christmas. I must admit though that with the new kitchen that was placed earlier this month I had enough to fill my list too.

Still I do have a book for this Wishlist Wednesday. On it is The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure.

The Paris Architect, Charles Belfoure
Like most gentiles in Nazi-occupied Paris, architect Lucien Bernard has little empathy for the Jews. So when a wealthy industrialist offers him a large sum of money to devise secret hiding places for Jews, Lucien struggles with the choice of risking his life for a cause he doesn’t really believe in. Ultimately he can’t resist the challenge and begins designing expertly concealed hiding spaces—behind a painting, within a column, or inside a drainpipe—detecting possibilities invisible to the average eye. But when one of his clever hiding spaces fails horribly and the immense suffering of Jews becomes incredibly personal, he can no longer deny reality.

What is on your wish list this Christmas?
